An Analysis of a recent “Mass Hysteria”

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

And now that mass hysteria has gone, allow me to draw a light to some things nobody has told you about… Frank Kern’s Mass Control success.

In case you are wondering about the validity of what I am going to tell you here, I remind to all new customers and subscribers here that I have been dealing with computers since 1984, dealing with the Net since 1994, being “there” when Internet Marketing brought up on 1997 and thereafter since, and have produced 100s of unique products and solutions.

You can bet that I know what I am saying.

So here we are:

Frank sold at least 500 copies of his system for $1997 in some hours… He re-opened sales for a couple of hours I think, got more sales and then ended the event. If you do the math it’s about 1 million dollars in some hours. Not sure about the final profits. It’s irrelevant I think. 1 million dollars in some hours it’s a marketer’s dream. And enough for a lifetime for many marketers.

Are you surprised by this success?

You should not be.

You better be surprised by what Frank noted into the Warriors’ forum in one of these days:

“frank-kern
HyperActive Warrior

USA

Here’s what I learned - if you’re not an HTML guy, get an HTML guy.

I set up the first members’ area myself …and I’m a rookie tech guy at best.

Subsequently, the members’ area blew up and I had egg on my face.

Huge lesson learned for me is focus on what you do best and get help with the rest.

I think I “get it” now.”

Yep…

You should better be surprised by that statement.

“How can someone that calls himself a ‘rookie tech guy’ could create that money…?”

I hear you thinking about it…

Allow me to remind you that the “character” of a “rookie tech guy” is just one of the “heroes”/scenarios introduced by Frank’s course. The point is: if a “rookie tech guy” can do it, then everybody can do it.

And thus, Frank’s statement in the Warriors’ forum is FULLY COMPLIANT with the “Hero” he has created… the “persona” you’d say.

It’s one of Mass Control’s fundamental principles according to Frank anyway: if the hero can accomplish such a success and if mass can sympathize with the hero then mass can be controlled.

Didn’t work?
Didn’t you think:

“If a rookie tech guy can do it then everybody can do it.”

See?

Personally I do not believe that Frank is a rookie tech guy anyway. Personally I believe that Frank is a very talented, skilled and clever man indeed.

The results he got were 100% an outcome on his skills. I also believe that his basic skill that makes him so irresistible is his TALK. While I was previewing his videos he gave to me the impression that he can talk for ages. If he was a sales man I could buy ANYTHING from him - just to make him stop talking. :D

If you combined the talent to talk so fluently and the knowledge of his own subject then you’d easily predict that success was just inevitable for Frank.

In fact… success was inevitable anyway because he started his promotion with the fact that HE had been responsible for the sales of some 23 millions of dollars through 3 events… And success will be inevitable for anything he will do in the future, since NOW he has another event added to his Bio…

In specific about his system - the Mass Control system…

As said, Frank is a very clever man.

Mass Control has not been Frank’s concept of course…
Mass Control is something all governments use…
Mass Control is a way of dealing with Mass that can be taught indeed.

Just study History and see how leaders manage to control masses… Great Alexander, Napoleon, and even Hitler have always been case-studies… Even Walt Disney’s cartoons and their heroes have something to tell you in relation to the Mass Control concept.

Take Superman for example: Clark Kent COULD be stamped as a ‘rookie tech guy’ while when being transformed to Superman can do anything. Take all other comic heroes and apply the same scenario and you will see the principle in action… Batman is vulnerable when he is not Batman… same for Spiderman…

Or take Hitler as an example: Have you ever wondered how come 1 man with so many disadvantages could control Mass? His success was that he managed to alienate certain groups of people, stamping them as “they” and attack then in Mass by using the “we.” If you got Frank’s course, then you can read more about it.

History can teach you many things you know…

Take Great Alexander for example… Study him and his philosophy and you can easily grasp a concept that will help you to create your own conquering teams online. Do you know why? Because Great Alexander was one of the best team leaders and one of the few people in history that knew how to empower people by assigning responsibilities to them. Do you think that he could CONTROL the territories he had conquered if he did not assign responsibilities to the natives on each territory??

Yep… history can teach you many things.

And Frank knows it.

So I am quite reluctant to believe that Frank is a ‘rookie tech guy.’ Because it’s quite not possible to deal with Gold and not be able to know that gold’s color is yellow. Quite impossible.

Plus, as said, History says everything. Frank was not born yesterday. It was not the first product he created… it was not the first members’ area he created. Etc. etc.

But again… the point is that if YOU THINK that a ‘rookie tech guy’ can achieve that success, then YOU will feel an ATTRACTION to what Frank’s offering… right??

Can you see it how it works?

However, there is 1 truth here…

“…if you’re not an HTML guy, get an HTML guy.”

100% true.
No… it’s 1000% true.
And it’s something to remember.

I have been telling this to people for years now.

Another point now…

Frank was the mastermind of successful launches that generated millions of dollars. His recent event was the disclosure of the “method” he used.

Can you see that the “method” has been presented AFTER the implementation of it?

This is quite difficult to be grasped…

But I shall try to explain it - it’s not easy for me either.

Here is an example…

What would you think if I tell you that I am a priest in Casablanca??

Read it again:

“What would you think if John Delavera tells you that he is a priest in Casablanca??”

Think about it…

Suppose I create an event… On that event I am going to prove to you that I generated more than 1 million of dollars in sales in less than 2 years by selling software online…

ONLY the proof of 1 million dollars could justify the attraction of yours to my event… Right??
Now…
Wouldn’t you feel MORE attracted to me and also to my event if you suddenly discovered that “a priest in Casablanca” managed indeed to create a software empire online without knowing how to write 1 single line of code??

Think about it…

To tell you the truth, I am not quite positive if Frank “acted as himself” into all those events in the past by presenting himself as a “reluctant internet marketing hero” OR if THIS WAS THE CASE indeed…. AND when results came he then decided to formulate the culture of the hero he acted upon and INCLUDE it as such to his theory. I am not quite positive on this… But in all cases, and I mean either if the hero he acted upon was himself indeed or if the hero has nothing to do with THE REAL Frank, he did it well…

As said, History can teach you things.

Moreover…

If you ARE aware of some advanced knowledge on you field and apply that knowledge in practice by COMBINING what History can teach to you, then you can present an awesome concept that can make sense… in mass.

To be more specific on this: If one studies Jeff Walker’s course on how to create a huge launch for example, and then studies “mass control” as a concept and studies how that concept has been applied to History, THEN we can easily have the concept of the “Mass Control Internet Marketing Launch” appearing… as it has been appeared and has been executed by Frank.

Another lesson underlined by Frank’s success is…

…can you guess it?

VIDEO marketing Rocks.

Try to imagine how that launch would be WITHOUT videos….

As said, Frank is a MASTER TALKER. I think that few people can beat his talent on that. So VIDEO has been the RIGHT MEANS for using it as a vehicle to his own success.

He studied, invented a concept, used his background as a proof of success, arranged his “attack” and offered you the Mass Control event.

An excellent work indeed and a case study for the years coming for those that can take notes and study what History has to say. ;)

Lastly…

I told you that you should not feel shocked by numbers… I know that 1 million dollars is a BIG DEAL.

But the beauty of Internet Marketing is just this: EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

You see… while you can have limits to jobs off-line, there is absolutely no limit on the profits you can have online.

Even better: everything can be explained… mathematically I mean… and it’s not a rocket science anyway.

Do you remember what I have been calling as the no. 1 ingredient of success online?? It’s only 1 word.

TRAFFIC.

Yep… AGAIN: traffic was the key to Frank’s success. Traffic is the key to EVERYTHING.
But do not let this fact to trick you.

You must HAVE something VERY GOOD to offer.

And when you are ready, traffic can do the magic.

Here is a shortcut lesson you can remember:

You need 1000 sales of $50 to generate $50,000 or $1,000,000 if the product costs $1000

IT IS THAT SIMPLE.

If you can create a product that HAS something to offer…
And if you can RELY on potential JV partners for your launch… THEN…

YOU CAN DO ANYTHING.

Thus instead of wondering how you can replicate Frank’s and every Frank’s success, I’d suggest you to FOCUS on the following…

(you better print these lines below and have them in front of you while working with your computer… every day:)

DISCOVER WHAT YOU CAN SAY TO THIS ONLINE WORLD THAT IS NEW AND USEFUL TO EVERYBODY.

That’s it.

When you do that, then PLAN your event. The easiest way to PLAN your event is to save the messages you get through successful events, say like Frank’s one. And also the messages you get for those events by the JV partners. Then relate everything and see how they acted…. What did they write and when… RELATE things… and follow the same plan…

But as said, first you need to discover what NEW you can say to this online world that is useful to everybody… In case you missed it, it’s the KISS principle in action here (Keep It Simple Stupid) and also the AIDA principle (Attention, interest, desire and action.) Above all: it’s pure Internet Marketing’s History and Knowledge what you really need to know…

If after reading these lines, you start thinking that I have quite simplified things… then YES, this is what I wanted to tell you today.

You can do anything you want.
Yes, it’s up to you.

But you need to work on and with it. A lot.
You can do it alone, or ask me :) through my membership at www.turbomembership.com

Last note related to the TRAFFIC as the key to your success. Do not expect to have Frank’s success only by working inside the 4 walls of your room.

I repeat it:

“Do not expect to have Frank’s and/or every Frank’s success only by working inside the 4 walls of your room.”

The joint ventures that can bring you MILLIONS of dollars are formulated on seminars.

I cannot stress that more.

If you study all the successful events online, you will see that those JV partners that promote heavily someone, have been “friends” through a seminar… or in some short of a way OFF LINE…

Strong relationships are cultivated in seminars.

Remember that.

That’s it for today.

I really believe I demystified a huge launch to you, but remember that the demystification does not deduct ANYTHING from the GLORY of that launch. On the contrary, I am telling you (once again - as I do all these years…) that you need to OBSERVE things… Do not take things as given. Try to discover the reasons of everything happening around you… There is always a reason you know.

Even for this message. :D
(Hint: time will show.)

Enjoy!

John Delavera

The headline of that sales pitch is “evil”
I always think that when someone makes that amount of money,
    where does it come from?
People hooked on making that kind of money no doubt!
For there to be a sustainable industry online,
everyone needs to make money to spend it.
The joy in setting up a membership site
is more reward than i could ask for.
Thanks John and others who have helped me
achieve some peace and creative space again:)

    Hello John,

This is THE BEST article I have ever read on the Internet, and I have been around it for quite some time now. Had only a smidgin of success. More Cost than ROI, but all good training I believe.

Anyway, your article here has really caused me to think a whole lot deeper, (including working out the ROI on “membership”, that’s awesome)

Being a Pensioner makes it quite tough in many ways because the only real source I have to use is my brain. Up until today, that too, has been wasted!

I am currently working on using blogs to start earning a little extra. not silly enough to think that it is going to become “over-night” riches or anything, but with some solid focusing, and now your very interesting article, I believe I may be onto a much better thing for me than trying to make a decent web page and drawing customers through that.

I can “write-speak” as in rambling talk, but I am no good at all in copy-writing.
I just lose it totally when I think of what other people’s sites look like, and know that I have no skills to match that!

Recently I spent a horrific sum for a months membership at one place, but I DID learn a heck of a lot. So putting everything together with what you have written here, I see a very much clearer picture of the Internet all round.

Living in New Zealand doesn’t help at all when it comes to your JV Seminars etc. :) However, there are other ways, as I see now by your article. Thank you John.
I actually have a unusual ability to “kind of see beyond whats written” when I’m really interested in something, and thas what you have given me today. That extra bit of “insight”.

Thank you John. It was very much appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    Danella

PS. I didn’t show my web url as being to shabby for your readers. :)

i’m one of the ones who purchased the “MASS CONTROL” As far as content, so far I think it’s well worth it. However re: the entire concept, I never heard anyone put it more succinctly.

Yes, if one were psychologically into the rudiments of history, there are infinite lessons to be learned….MASS CONTROL being but one.

However, you’re just as successful as Frank if not as charismatic. LOL. But to me, wisdom wins the race. Nor does it have a price tag.

Thanks for the insight. I’ll be sure to get my money’s worth or else.

    Thanks John,

I just learned so much more about you and that pleases me.

    The Best,

    Ed

Mass Hysteria created by a good salesman is the way I’d put it. I learn’t a lot and what affiliates were giving away in bonuses was utter desperation to get sales. But the bit that really go to me is why create such a demand for only 500 products with a $2000 price tag when he could have sold them for almost anything as people just wanted it at any price. It wouldn’t surprise me to hear that some people bought and then onsold at a much higher price for a nice profit themselves.

I await the next instalment of this serial.

  7. Bal Says:

There is something profound in what you wrote John. I think the most important for me was the bit about getting out of the walls of your office.

I am beginning to be able to attest to this. I joined a local marketing group in the Seattle area and (a) have found an expert *local* marketer willing to be a mentor to me and (b) will be having the first meeting in a 2-member mastermind group (also local).

Out of this, I have met people (all local) who will very likely form some of my first clients in my current business incarnation.

This isn’t really on point with the rest of your remarks about traffic, having something new and real to say and Frank Kern’s launch. But it is the truth (at least for me) that getting my backside out the door and into meetings with people with whom I can network provides many opportunities not found in any other way.

    Great post.

    Regards,
    Bal

  8. Donna Maher Says:

    John,

What a way with words you have… and how succinctly you described the mass control that Frank has had going over thousands of mesmerized, hot for his product folks - many of whom were unable to buy it because of cost and other obligations.

As an astute friend of mine noted, 2008 seems to be the year of “let’s get $1997 out of them instead of $997″ and it seems to be working splendidly to make the already rich even richer.

Thank you for your sage wisdom, and I did copy it to re-read. You are much appreciated, like a breath of fresh air…

    Warm regards,
    Donna

  9. Brent Says:

I was just reading Matt Ng’s firesale sales letter and it occurred to me that if he really had read and used the 150 products he is selling, he wouldn’t be needing to have this firesale.

Frank, on the other hand, creates the products and the systems and uses them.

    No, I didn’t buy.

I must be getting jaded, I see very little value in buying more information until the information I do have starts giving a positive ROI.

It’s weird, I haven’t worked out yet if I keep getting snippets more of information or if the information has to be repeated 100 times before I actually get some understanding.

I suspect that some of the information that I think I am missing is considered by others to be so self-evident that there is no need to state it outright.

John, you do have a knack for clarification that is rare online.

  10. Brian Potter Says:

Can’t believe that so many would wait in line to promote mass control, can’t believe it is just about forming relationships at seminars that happen now and then and can’t believe it’s an all pals together act either.
Come on everybody is promoting everyone else these days offering this that and the other to their lists.
Wouldn’t it be good to be a part of the “Club” and wouldn’t it be interesting to know what the carrot was for everyone to put out the word regarding the launch!
Some of the really big names never sent me the word on mass control, I’m on their list too, now why didn’t they want to be part of the scene.
Who knows what goes on behind closed doors!!

  11. Jim Kelley Says:

    Hi John,

As usual, you have created a writing that leads one to “thinking and planning” with your profound words of “widsom” coming directly from your “heart and soul”

You state; ““What would you think if John Delavera tells you that he is a priest in Casablanca??””

I think you may very well be “a priest in Casablanca” as it reminded me of another story of a another “holy man”….

“A holy man was having a conversation with God one day and said, “God, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like. ”

God led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in.

In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the holy man’s mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly.

They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of
    stew and take a spoonful.

But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. God said, “You have seen Hell.”

Then they went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which
made the holy man’s mouth water.

The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.

The holy man said, “I don’t understand.”

It is simple” said God “it requires but one skill.

You see, they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves.”

John, In simple terms, THANK YOU FOR FEEDING US!

    A GREAT writing….

    My Best,
    Jim

    Many differing views here!
    Some random senarios…

The internet is a recycling center for thoughts, ideas and opinions.
The more you get into all this the more confused you become
as your mind revolves with it all.

You look for someone, a leader, but at the same time,
distrusting more and more when your wallet is what so many want.

Selling dreams? I dont think so, more like nightmares a lot of the time.
Praying on the weaknesses and desires of millions of people who are without direction. So you buy direction! and Again, and again……

I see this, and many other campaigns as the old fabel.
    “The Emporors New Clothes”
He parades nacked and all his minyons are in awe of him.
He parades and shows off his fine clothes.
Then one young boy points and laughs.
    “He is nacked!”
Then all see that he is and they laugh at him.

It only takes ONE to break the mass control.
It only takes ONE who will stand up and tell the truth!
As John has done and I will add.

Take your $1,900 and make a good product.
And then sell it, spend the $50 on traffic.
Ask some “freinds” if they will help you for nothing.
How many people will promote your product for no commission?
The result will really tell you what this realm is based on.
I personally have benifited from this industry in spirit,
not for making money, but for the learning,
but despare at the same time.

  14. Saundra Jackson Says:

    John,

Thank you. We can always count on you to break this industry down to it lowest common denominator. Mind control of the masses have existed since time began. Look how the religious people were able to kill Jesus.

The average person shy away from this type of control because they themselves are afraid of it. If it is used careful it can be a good thing.

Frank taught us a lot. Those who didn’t buy can still use his free info and go to the next step.

We all need to come together and help each other prosper on the Internet, instead of the “club” As the story above stated ” we should learn how to feed each other and get fat and happy”

Keep up the good work John. I am looking for other opinions on how Frank made so so much money and how what he did can benefit you. Leave your opinions by clicking my link.

and able to dissolve any hidden-secret without waiting to do for the rest of us.

    Good old Frank Kern,

Frank’s “aw shucks, I am just a good old boy who sold used cars in Gawja, ya’ll…” persona is great.

I am reminded of the big “A-HA” in the movie where the two friends battled for years to be the best magician, in that the key in the end was that the winner learned the lesson of the Asian Wizard - who stayed in character at all times - seamless.

Using Mass Control to sell Mass Control while controlling the masses is MaSSterful.

I wonder how many people who paid $10,000 for the Serializer method ever actually implemented it?

  20. Brian Says:

Interesting post John! You’ve made a good many points here as have others.

Note: I am a avid student of all things influence and marketing and am in little doubt Frank is a master - how can anyone argue against the results he has helped achieve?

“Is Frank really a rookie HTML guy?”
I don’t know. Did I believe it? I was surprised - but it could be possible. I don’t know Frank’s technical abilities - because I don’t know Frank personally. I have witnessed however, Frank’s ability to channel massive desire - which is what all marketers want. THAT is the holy grail… is it not? You could be right, the “rookie” remark could be an extension of his “character” and conceivably calculated as such.

The real interesting thing about this aside from the course itself is the massive response that Frank has generated - not only in sales but discourses such as this. Anyone that bought the product or wrote a post about it or just plained watched the videos - whether they realise it or not has been undeniably been impacted if not influenced.

Some have resisted or objected to the pitch and the promise. Maybe they didn’t feel comfortable with the concept of “mass control” - its application for profit and power. Perhaps they’re jaded from all too many “make a million with my course” pitches. Or may be they’re happy with what they have and the direction they are heading. Or some other reason…

While others have gone with it - credit card in hand. Submitting to the hopes and dreams of which they see lie waiting on the other side.

Bottom line: what you get at the end of the day in life ultimately depends on the influence and impact you have. If you can influence, the ride will be that much more fun. What Frank has put together, if it delivers, is a piece in the puzzle, a big piece, to help 500 or so people move towards their dreams and goals. Many people learned a great deal from his marketing and a few, 500 or so get the backstage pass and hopefully see the theories and concepts as to the why and the how - to make it work for themselves.

The fact is, we all influence all the time… some do it better than others. I wonder how many readers of this post considered their interaction with you - something along the lines of “hey John posted this all seeing analysis of Mass Control… he’s got a few good points here, he appears to be smart cookie, he’s helped me see a few things more clearly, he might be someone I can trust…” and so on…. INFLUENCE… you can’t escape! Control? No one wants to be controlled but the reality is we all are - by life, by society, by our own filters and limitations. Learn the art of influence - not only of others but of yourself and life can’t help but be more fun.

    Just a thought or two

    Thanks John for your insights.

    Hey John,

Awesome post on what looks to be an awesome product. I don’t know if I believe Frank is a Rookie IT Guy, but that really doesn’t worry me to much. He has a great way of talking and making things flow so they make sense.

The worst course I ever bought (intentionally leaving product name out) included his “Fast Track” bonus which I have a feeling is covered in his new Mass Control course.

His “Fast Track” audios and slideshow made the whole fiasco almost worth it.
