Positive thinking doesn't always work, particularly when it runs counter to your underlying beliefs. A consistent and persistent focus on your goals and aspirations can eventually overcome these negative influences but most people give up long before they succeed.

What happens is that there is a small voice in your head which says, when you say "I believe that I can succeed", "yeah right" or "just like last time, Loser". At the risk of sounding like one of the latest bunch of sales pages, this isn't actually your fault. You are currently the product of all your previous experiences and thoughts.

While this can be overcome with persistence it can be extremely slow and frustrating however there is a fast track solution. Watch this video for an overview of what you can do to resolve this.

Some time ago I was fortunate to read these words by Dr. Maxwell Maltz:
...Your nervous system cannot tell the difference between an 'imagined experience' and a 'real' experience.
In either case, it reacts automatically to information which you give to it from your forebrain.
Your nervous system reacts appropriately to what you THINK or IMAGE to be 'true'....

Since brain is just a muscle, so by exercising that muscle, it is possible to reshape the way it 'works'. Sounds simple, but takes some doing like any other exercising program.

I truly believe that you are the best 'brain fitness guru' a person can ask for, so trusting you, even blindly, is a no-brainer.
I can do anything!

Hey John How Are You??? Very Well I Hope ...

Life throws us many challenges and obstacles, I'm living proof of that, it's the force/universal energy/God call it what you may, way of testing our resolve and will to reach the heights one so desires and truly deserves in this dimension of life.

That light at the end of the tunnel awaits as does the pot at the end of the rainbow. Seeing a flicker of hope along the journey allows one to continue to believe that staying the journey is possible because from my experience the odds are stacked well against you.

I totally agree that MINDSET and ENVIRONMENT play a huge role in the outcome as does BELIEF and FAITH that with ACTION all that you DESIRE, NEED or WANT can truly be yours. in time no matter what your present situation might be ...

I also agree that sometimes believing or following the wisdom of others at times can be somewhat difficult as your goals seem so far, far, far from realisation ...

Again these are challenges, obstacles and tests to determine ones level of commitment to the end goal.

Life isn't easy even though the idea is to simplify it as much as you can, creating a shield around helps deflect a lot of negativity but life is about experiences and negativities and ones mistakes are learning processes and a great source of valuable knowledge.

As is learning from the wisdom and experiences of others who have travelled down and experienced a similar path. The idea is through such wisdom if one can hold true in the belief not only in ones self but in the universal energy truly wants YOU to have all you desire, need and want.

Having unwavering faith in this belief is crucial then all that remains is consistent action that is consistent with ones goals and only time remains ones friend or foe ...

I continually look forward to a long standing relationship John one that has only begun and also with Mark who even though it was he who urged I wonder into your world I have yet to fully embrace his ...

RESPECTFULLY YOURS,

ROD F.

Thanks John,
Very inspiring/daunting...
I believe if we leave a time limit out of the equasion, we can achieve everything.
At what point would I say i failed?
When a year or 2 later i could turn it all around and be a "goddess"!
Those points when one believes they "cannot do" or have "failed" are
only reference points on a time line.
So to me, as I may have said before, "failure is success postponed"
Success of course is merely to achieve what I wanted to do,
no matter what that may be.
I have found logic in working in IM and computers,
a logic that is not in the real world, a logic that gives me... Sanity :)
That was one of my goals, to become logical.
So if, in a small second of your carreer you deam yourself to have failed.
It is a marker only to reavaluate your directions and mind set, goals and actions.
A new launch pad and a necessary place to begin again.

Love You John :)

WOW, John, what "rambling" and it hits all the targets of individual effort.
You are exactly right in your comments in that we all have the capability to do ANYTHING within reasonability and our own personal desires. I am 70 years old and I know that I CAN"T dunk a basketball or defend against a professional basketball player that is one third my age, but I do know that there are many things that I want to do that is within my capacity that I need to begin to plan on how I can do them.
Your words are "motivational words" that will help me do that. Having been a mentoree of yours for quite a while, when you write words like these, I, for one, know that these words not only come from your head, but more importantly, they come from your heart.
Thank you for sharing your words and your heart with all of us.
